Epson Expands Lineup of USB 2.0 High-speed Controllers

Seiko Epson Corporation (“Epson”) has developed the S1R72V27, the newest USB controller LSI product that is compatible with high-speed USB 2.0. Sample shipments have already begun. The S1R72V series of products have made it possible for users to connect to computers and download large files at super high speeds, and also tap into USB memory to transmit music data at high speeds. Furthermore, significantly extended battery life and reduced noise achieved through Epson’s strengths in the area of low power consumption technology have greatly contributed to the development of mobile devices. The newly developed S1R72V27 is a faster version of the S1R72V17, which accounts for the largest volume of S1R72V series products shipped. While maintaining compatibility with the S1R72V17, the S1R72V27 also meets the many demands of the market.

* Supports HS (480 Mbps) and FS (12 Mbps) transfer rates
* Supports control, bulk, interrupt, and isochronous transfer
* Supports one endpoint for control transfer in addition to five general endpoints for bulk, interrupt, and isochronous transfer

* Compatible with 16-bit width general CPU interface
* Includes DMA 1 ch
* Voltage change of interface is possible: 1.8 V to 3.3 V (typical)
