Presentation on May 20 Will Offer Insight Into the Cypress Innovator Design Challenge

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today announced that its University Alliance Director, Patrick Kane, will speak at the 2008 Engineering Projects in Community Service Conference at the Armstrong Center on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana on May 20, 2008 . Kane speech, “Encouraging Student Innovation: The Cypress Innovator Design Challenge,” will give the history of the design contest; explain its objectives, and highlight projects from past winners.

The Cypress Innovator Design Challenge is a multi-discipline engineering design contest open to all undergraduate and graduate engineering students currently enrolled in an accredited university. The contest’s goal is to challenge students to stretch their imaginations as they develop new and novel ways to utilize Cypress technologies such as the PSoC® mixed-signal array. All regional first place winners will receive an interview with Cypress concerning potential internships, co-ops or full-time employment positions. The Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) program enables teams of undergraduates earn academic credit with multiyear, multidisciplinary projects that solve engineering and technology-based problems with community service and education organizations" This partnership provides many benefits to the students and the community alike.
