Security Trends Spur Window Gate to Nationwide Expansion

WEBWIRE

FBI research has supplied us with some rather disconcerting statistics on home break-ins. The study concludes that break-ins through unlocked entrances only make up a fraction (4%) of all break-ins, a fact that strongly suggests that investing in various locks may not be as promising a deterrent as we are led to believe.

That same study shows that the vast majority of home break-ins are through the front door (34%), followed closely by first-floor windows (23%) – statistics that seem to indicate a need to reinforce these entrances with more effective security devices in order to prevent further security breaches.

Of numerous security measures, security bars have emerged, rather surprisingly, as one of the most promising options available today.

The astonishment is not due to any doubts cast on the utility of these bars, but to the idea that their simple mechanics can compare to more sophisticated and expensive devices, such as alarm systems and surveillance cameras. There’s little surprise that security bars can effectively protect against break-ins, given that they make forcible entry a daunting challenge and offer limited means of circumvention for lock pickers and thieves who have somehow attained key duplicates.

In light of the FBI study and its implications, security companies are working diligently to address these issues. Window Gate, in particular, has exerted considerable effort toward improving home security through the nationwide expansion of its business.

The company – which specializes in the supply, installation, and maintenance of window guards and various security bars – has recently extended its services to the states of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and North Carolina.

Though Window Gate now serves a total of 11 states and 5 major US cities, its representatives insist that this list will continue to grow in the coming months as the company follows through with its expansion plans.
