Visual-Baseball Launches Statistical Analysis Site
Visual-Baseball.com announced today the debut of the Visual-Baseball InfoPortal (VIP) 1.0 beta website, featuring online tools that allow users to access a wide variety of baseball data through the convenience of their web browser. The site will feature reports and analysis views allowing users to access and analyze statistical data for players and teams dating back to 1871.
The initial service offerings include both VIP Analyst and VIP Reporter, available to users at no cost through May 31, 2008. “We believe this will give baseball stat lovers one more toolkit that complements some of the great existing resources on the web”, stated Ken Cherven, founder of Visual-Baseball.com. “The web provides us with the opportunity to provide a wealth of information through a convenient web portal. Allowing users to freely access the tools and provide feedback during the beta stage will help us to further refine the site and provide an enjoyable user experience.”
VIP Analyst is a powerful tool that allows users to open an analysis view and filter, sort, chart, and download data to either an Excel or CSV format. VIP Reporter allows users to customize reports using criteria specified via report prompts, and save the results to Adobe PDF, RTF, Excel, and CSV formats.
Additional offerings slated for 2008 release include VIP Visualizer, a highly intuitive tool for filtering graphical data; VIP Explorer for rapid, full-text queries; VIP Cinema, a Flash-based tool for animating statistical data; and VIP Modeler, a sophisticated statistical analysis toolkit allowing for advanced analytical techniques.
