* Polystyrene game racks up donations of 37,000 euros for the SOS Children’s Village

BASF’s Internet game to commemorate the 75th anniversary of polystyrene accumulated almost 740,000 points. The donation sum based on these scores was rounded up to 37,000 euros and is going to benefit the school in the SOS Children’s Village in Natitingou, Benin, Africa. Thomas Laker of the SOS Children’s Village organization was presented with the check in Ludwigshafen, Germany in November.

In the month during which this campaign ran, the game was played and a donation was made a total of 1370 times. For each 100 points from the supermarket of polystyrene products, BASF made a donation of 5 euros. On the average, each player who clicked on the “Donate” button made a contribution of 27 euros. Altogether, players from 40 countries took part in the game. The highest score for a single game was 1430 points, with a value of 71.50 euros.
