Los Angeles, California, April 9th, 2008 - Santana Youth Action Center in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles wanted to make it possible for seniors in the neighboring high schools, who otherwise might not have the means, to attend their Proms by providing them with Prom dresses.

Online fashion blog, Stylephile, announced the Center’s Senior Prom Project in their e-newsletter and readers from all over Los Angeles, and even as far as New York, made donations.

One Stylephile reader, Michelle Buettner, jewelry designer and owner of MiShel Designs, designed four pair of earrings for the Prom Project. “The earrings arrived from MiShel Designs and they are beautiful!” exclaimed Janet Garrison of the Santana Center.

The earrings donated by MiShel Designs consisted of hoop and drop styles in both silver and gold with faceted semiprecious stones, Swarovski crystals, and freshwater cultured pearls. “There were four very excited young women on March 30th when the Santana Center opened their doors to these high school seniors.” Garrison said.

“We felt this was a fantastic idea and a wonderful opportunity to help the girls feel special during such a fun time in their lives,” remarked Buettner. “We didn’t have designer gowns in our studio, but we did have the ‘bling”! We were glad to help and delighted they liked the earrings we designed!”

"The Santana Youth Action Center wants to thank Michelle Buettner of MiShel Designs, The Stylephile, and Maggie Moe at the Variety Group, for helping us with this project.” Garrison said.
