A New Golden Age of Science Fiction is Approaching
A wonderful age for science fiction is on the horizon. Heinlein, Asimov and Clarke would have given anything to experience the brave new world just coming into focus. Robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, genetics, and more --- yes, it’s all coming true, the wonders science fiction writers have imagined for all these many decades.
It’s great to be alive and writing science fiction. Science fiction writers have unprecedented opportunities to expand their intellect, their imagination and their writing skills, but it requires hard work. There is so much science to learn and so much technology to study, much more so than those SciFi idols had to absorb three or four decades earlier. Quite a challenge, quite an opportunity.
Today’s science fiction writer must gain a broad understanding of the areas of science bordering his stories, and a deeper knowledge in fields critical to his work. For example, Dan Ronco tries to keep up to date on what’s developing in genetics and artificial intelligence, two fields featured in his novels.

Dan Ronco was a long-term IT executive as a General Manager with Microsoft, Senior Principal with Laventhol & Horwath and President, Software Quality Management. With degrees in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Computer Science, his understanding of technology and its implications is exceptional. Dan is the author of two thought-provoking science fiction thrillers, PeaceMaker and the newly released Unholy Domain.
UNHOLY DOMAIN delivers all the excitement of a SciFi thriller while also delving into provocative themes: the bioethics of genetic engineering, the question of what limit (if any) should be placed on technology, the problem of reconciling faith in God and respect for his creation with the technological promises of artificial intelligence, and the age-old issue of family ties and the loyalty of a son to his father.
UNHOLY DOMAIN features David Brown, a brilliant but troubled young man raised in the dark shadow of his long-dead father, a software genius who unleashed a computer virus that murdered more than a million innocents. When David receives a decade-old email that indicates his father may have been framed, he plunges into a gut-wrenching race with the real killers to discover the truth about his father ... and himself. As David tracks through his father’s startling history, he stumbles into a war between the Domain, a secret society of technologists, and the Army of God, a murderous cult with a sacred mission to curtail the spread of technology and roll civilization back to a simpler era.
PEACEMAKER, a start-at-a-dead-run SciFi thriller, is set in the near future, where software revolutionaries are pushing artificial intelligence to the brink of terrorism. The prologue plunges software architect Ray Brown into a life-or-death contest with PeaceMaker, a deadly artificial intelligence that has infected most of the world’s computing devices. Ray’s determination to eliminate PeaceMaker leads him into a dangerous conflict with the Domain - a clandestine organization dedicated to a new world order
