Photographer Dirk Hooper Featured Artist in Belgium Fetish Project

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, April 13, 2008 – Fetish and fantasy photographer Dirk Hooper will be headlining the Fetish Project show on April 19, 2008 in Brussels Belgium. Sharing the exhibit will be an international affair featuring Italian photographer Michele Marchese, music by DJ Khimaira from Japan and specialty merchants from throughout Europe.

“I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to be participating in this event,” Hooper said, “Fetish Project, the people and the experience is exactly the sort of goal that I’ve been working toward over the past few years.” Dirk Hooper will be attending the event and displaying twelve photos taken recently. Hooper adds, “This is a chance for me to share my work with a whole new audience. It is a transcendent moment for me and the talented people I work with.”

Fetish Project is celebrating its second year anniversary as a venue for art, music and the fetish culture. Fetish Project has held shows in both Belgium and France and served as a venue for artists and DJs from around the world who share a common appreciation for the fetish subculture, including its fashion, art and music. Dirk Hooper will be the first artist from the United States to be featured in the show.

Dirk Hooper is a world renowned photographer, fine artist, graphic designer and writer whose work has been described as “forbidden tales to rival the likes of H.P. Lovecraft and the Marquis de Sade.” Dirk’s publishing credits include such diverse media as comic books, music CDs and slick fetish magazines. He has also cultivated a reputation as a fine artist in established venues like the prestigious Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum and as an underground visionary in galleries like the Electric Chair, the Dirty Show in Detroit. Dirk has work in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute based at Indiana University.
