Free Resources On Managing and Treating Allergies, Living Allergy Free Now Available at All Rite Aid Stores

Camp Hill, PA .-According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, more than 50 million Americans spend their spring season coughing, itching and sneezing, thanks to allergies. For those seeking relief, Rite Aid pharmacies nationwide have launched a two-month comprehensive initiative to help seasonal allergy sufferers understand and manage their reactions to allergens and survive the season.

During April and May, all Rite Aid stores will offer a free Allergy Guide that features information on how to avoid and treat allergies as well as a free Allergy Relief Plan, which offers advice on how to manage allergies inside and outside. Rite Aid created the guides in collaboration with the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), the largest professional medical specialty organization in the United States dedicated to advancing the knowledge and practice of allergy, asthma and immunology.

The 11-page comprehensive Allergy Guide helps patients understand what triggers an allergy, offers tips on how to tell the difference between allergies and colds, testing for allergies, understanding allergy symptoms, allergy prevention in children and effective products for alleviating various symptoms. It also includes 10 tips for allergy-proofing your home and offers advice for allergy-free road trips.

Customers can also pick up the Allergy Relief Plan, which features a “blueprint for success” and provides simple ways customers can control their allergies. Advice includes how to eliminate dust mites in the bedroom; vacuuming the entire home frequently to dispose of pet dander, mites and other common allergens; how to use air conditioning to clean, recirculate and dehumidify the air and keep allergens outside; and how to eliminate mold. Each Allergy Relief Plan also includes savings offers on commonly used products that help fight allergy symptoms.

“Rite Aid is committed to offering our patients the programs, resources and support to help them live healthier, happier lives,” said John Learish, senior vice president of marketing. “At Rite Aid, our pharmacists are able to give patients recommendations on how to alleviate their allergy symptoms and help them find the best relief possible this allergy season.”

Rite Aid’s Allergy Initiative is part of its yearlong commitment to patient health and wellness. Throughout the year, Rite Aid pharmacies offer special health condition programs that provide patients guidance on topics such as summer skin care, pain management, diabetes management, weight management and heart health.
