Matrox Delivers Breakthrough Features to OEMs and Developers With X.mio2 Card

Powerful multi-layer realtime HD compositor/scaler, single-link 3G SDI support, and up to 4-in/4-out HD from a single card provides cost-effective broadcast platform

Montreal, Canada.– Matrox® Video Products Group today announced that the Matrox X.mio2 card is in full production and available immediately to OEMs and developers of high-performance HD and SD products. A new hardware component in the Matrox DSX™ family of developer products, the X.mio2 card is ideal for video servers, broadcast graphics systems, and NLEs. It provides up to four HD-SDI inputs and four HD-SDI outputs, 16 channels of embedded audio for each SDI stream, 16 channels of AES/EBU audio input, and 32 channels of AES/EBU audio output on a single card. Single-link 3G SDI is also supported. X.mio2’s PCIe x 8 architecture allows up to 2 GBytes/sec transfer speed in each direction for write and read. A powerful onboard compositor/scaler lets users composite any size of video and graphics up to the equivalent of four full HD layers in real time and downscale up to four full HD streams to any resolution in real time. Matrox X.mio2 also provides support for expansion modules such as the Matrox X.DVI module that lets users bring graphics, animation, and video content rendered by the system GPU directly to the X.mio2, without transferring to host memory.
