Lloyds Pharmacy Launch Free Blood Pressure & Diabetes Testing Service

Lloyds Pharmacy, the leading community pharmacy chain in the UK, is now offering a number of free health tests for common diseases and conditions.

Visitors to the Lloyds Pharmacy website are able to read information, take an “Am I at Risk?” questionnaire, watch an online demo of what the tests involve, listen to an audio interview talking participants through the tests and offering extra advice, and read a FAQ and case study about each condition, all prior to actually visiting pharmacy to take the actual tests.

Lloyds Pharmacy has started offering tests for several common diseases and conditions, including high blood pressure which presently affects one third of all adults, and is a condition which is important that people are aware of, along with the risks presented by it and how it can be reduced. The blood pressure test is a free confidential service that takes just a few minutes and includes blood pressure readings, advice on lifestyle and if necessary will refer the test participant to a doctor.

Diabetes is another common condition in the UK, the symptoms of which are not always obvious and which can develop gradually. The Lloyds Pharmacy diabetes test helps to identify a persons’ potential risk of developing the condition and then advice is provided on making the appropriate changes in lifestyle and offer treatments if necessary.

Lloyds Pharmacy is also offering a free service for those who want to quit smoking, which is expected to be especially popular in the New Year.
