Siemens IT Solutions And Services PSE Joins Juniper Networks Open IP Service Creation Program
IP Service Management Team Joins Program to Further Enhance Development and Deployment of Advanced IP Service Management Applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, and the IP Service Management team of Siemens IT Solutions and Services Program and Systems Engineering (PSE), today announced the latest phase in their ongoing alliance with Siemens joining Juniper’s Open IP Service Creation Program (OSCP). The companies are partnering within the OSCP to enable innovative new solutions for providers that improve network efficiency and accelerate service velocity.
Siemens IT Solutions and Services PSE offers a wide array of professional services and develops and integrates a range of applications–enabled by Juniper’s Session and Resource Control Portfolio–that can provide carriers with the functionality to derive maximum value from the network, as well as realize operational efficiencies through advanced network intelligence and service control.
“The relationship between Siemens IT Solutions and Services PSE and Juniper dates back several years, and our organization is very pleased to extend this relationship with Juniper through the OSCP to deliver increased value to our customers,” said Dr. Stefan Roth, head of Multimedia and Security Solutions, Telco and Media Fixed, at Siemens IT Solutions and Services PSE. “Through tighter collaboration with Juniper, we will be able to deliver advanced solutions that enable our customers to cost-effectively deploy and manage new, revenue-generating services.”
In the current applications portfolio, Siemens IT Solutions and Services PSE offers the Accounting and Rating Engine (AccRE) solution, which provides simplified billing and accounting for dynamic and on-demand IP services; and the Rate-Adaptive DSLAM Application (RADA), which improves bandwidth efficiency by unlocking available capacity in DSL-based broadband access networks. Collectively, these solutions enable providers to introduce new, differentiated subscriber service offerings, while also generating the ability to deliver simplified, flexible billing options for their IP services suite. Service providers can realize more service revenue by taking advantage of flexible charging capabilities and non-linear service usage with prepaid, postpaid and content charging systems.
“The Siemens IT Solutions and Services PSE organization has been a valued application development and services partner to both Juniper Networks and to our customers, and we’re very pleased to welcome them as a premier member of the OSCP,” said Jerry Passione, director of service provider partnerships at Juniper Networks. “They have a strong heritage and breadth of expertise in working with our SDX/SRC solutions to create new service offerings for providers to more efficiently and effectively manage their IP service resources.”
Formally launched in January 2007, the OSCP is an application development program for creating innovative IP service management functionality by leveraging the power of the Juniper Networks Session and Resource Control Portfolio. The OSCP is a component of Juniper’s overall J-Partner Open IP Development Program. The Open IP Development Program also includes the Partner Solution Development Platform (PSDP) that enables customers and partners to develop specialized applications on Juniper’s carrier-class JUNOS software.
