Motorola offers image distribution technology to TETRA customers

BASINGSTOKE, England - 28 November 2005 - (NYSE: MOT), a global leader in wireless and broadband communications, and HomeNet Communications Ltd a leading provider of Visual Intelligence Solutions, today announced that they have signed a distribution agreement under which Motorola will supply HomeNet’s image distribution technology to their TETRA customers.

Using HomeNet’s HNC500 product, Motorola’s TETRA customers now have the ability to distribute images over the secure network to public safety officers using the MTH800 WAP enabled TETRA handsets. Vital information can now be moved to the point of decision.

To be able to send CCTV images successfully to officers at the point of operation will enable officers to identify people swiftly - and securely - at the moment an image is available, saving vital time in the fight against crime and terrorism. HomeNet’s HNC500 product can also be utilised to rapidly disseminate images of missing persons and mug shots of most wanted, as well as minimizing the potential for wrongful arrest through misleading verbal descriptions.

“HomeNet is delighted to work with a world leader such as Motorola. This is a tremendous validation of our application and partnering with a leading provider of solutions to the Public Safety market gives HomeNet much greater market reach” said Denis Kelly, CEO of HomeNet Communications. “We see an increasing need in the marketplace for the delivery of images, video and data to mobile terminals. With further development in bandwidth this will become a major driver in productivity and safety of frontline officers”.

“This technology is a major benefit to police forces operating on TETRA networks. It demonstrates the future path for the collection and distribution of images to handsets and is a further extension of Motorola’s seamless mobility strategy” said Dave Floyd, Director EMEA Wireless Enterprise Solutions.
