Faster in use and sleeker for the eye, with a great new UI design Zignal 2.0 ensures a great user experience.

London.-IPTV World Forum Stand 170 - Industria, a leading IPTV solutions provider, today announced Zignal 2.0 a groundbreaking and unprecedented IPTV middleware platform designed to bridge the gap between the TV user’s expectations and the solutions currently available in the IPTV market space.

“The problem with current IPTV solutions is that the available technology is not meeting users’ expectations for a true TV experience” Says Yngvi Gudmundsson VP Product Development at Industria “With our new technology we wanted the user experience to consist of an intuitive user interface and instant system feedback. This has been the guiding light during the design and development phase of Zignal 2.0.”

Built using device agnostic technology, the Zignal 2.0 user interface can be rendered in the fastest available technology on each device. Already deployed on each of the three screens, set-top-boxes, PCs and mobile phones, Zignal makes the best use of its small memory-footprint while maintaining a user interface that stays in tune with user’s expectations.

“We want to lead a transformation in the IPTV industry,” says Stefan Baxter CTO, Industria. “Before, the technology just wouldn’t allow for such a feature rich user interface to be built while maintaining a reasonable user experience. Today, with the advent of better rendering technologies and through use of open standards, we are able to offer Zignal 2.0 as the user interface of choice for any display driven device using rendering technologies like SVG, Flash, Silverlight and HTML.”
Fully extendable

Based on modular design, Zignal 2.0 consists of a new application framework allowing dynamic extension and module loading. It also supports widgets, enabling users to easily select new features and services. The new framework also offers connection to home automation services and content discovery through the DLNA/UPnP interoperability technology. Zignal 2.0 also allows operators to provide their services to a range of user-devices from a single server.

Third party developers are now open to develop extensions to the system, using the Zignal SDK. These can than be deployed to a single user, specific network zones or the whole customer base.
Building business value

With Zignal 2.0 easy customization of user interface functionality and look allows service providers to enhance their brand building. Furthermore, Zignal supports Virtual Operators, where service providers can operate more than one type of service on the same network. This means Virtual Operators can re-purpose content and services to deliver different user experience and content over different networks, to any user device, all from the same robust server.

Zignal comes well tied into the eco-space with applications, from many of the leading solution providers, pre-integrated with the system.
