London, UK – IPTV World Forum.-Tilgin, a leading provider of customer premises equipment (CPE) solutions for multi-play and next-generation broadband services, today announces the launch of its new Mood 400-020 Advanced IP Set-Top Box (STB).

Sporting a compact and sleek design, the new product offers a cost-effective entry level solution that operators can grow with to expand and enhance their IPTV service. The product offers an excellent extension to the existing Tilgin Mood 400 family, with its range of advanced PVR-enabled IP STBs. Designed for easy upgrade of new functionality over time, the Mood 400 products help operators to deliver more personalized and interactive multimedia services to the home without needing to replace the STB with each addition of new services or applications.

Distributed home media sharing solution
Using standards from the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) and Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Forum, the new Mood 400 allows operators to also cost-effectively service multiple TV sets in the home. The new product is able to be fully integrated into a low-cost multi-room media sharing solution with other content storing devices. It enables consumers to view recorded commercial content stored on a hard disc drive (HDD) equipped STB in another room or personal content stored on other devices like Network Attached Storage or PCs. Sitting in front of a TV in the bedroom, the solution will allow users to view a film stored on an STB in the living room or personal pictures and video clips stored on a PC in another room.

Tilgin CEO, Ola Berglund, says: “IPTV operators are expressing needs for different service levels. The new Tilgin Mood 400 flexibly addresses many of these, either stand-alone or as an integrated solution with other media terminals and storage devices in the home. We are helping operators to grow their IPTV offering to something much more than just a television service, integrating communications and multi-room multi-device media sharing into our solutions”.

“Tilgin’s focus is to engineer Intelligent Service Nodes that operators can deploy into the home, helping them to deliver an expanded portfolio of compelling new multimedia services.”

Tilgin IPTV solutions include Advanced IP set-top boxes, Telco Home Gateways and Service Node Management that enable operators to deliver a complete portfolio of enhanced broadband services, giving a more personalized and interactive multimedia TV experience.

The complete Mood 400 product family will be showcased at the Tilgin booth (Stand 169) at the IPTV World Forum conference in London (March 12-14).
