Cognos and SPSS Forge Partnership to Deliver Predictive Analytics Integration

SPSS Inc. (NASDAQ: SPSS), a leading worldwide provider of Predictive Analytics software, and Cognos, an IBM company and the world leader in business intelligence and performance managementsolutions, today announced a complementary software partnership to provide integration between IBM Cognos 8 BI and SPSS Predictive Analytics technology. Cognos customers can easily extend the value of Predictive Analytics outcomes to decision-makers across the enterprise to rapidly identify, evaluate and confidently pursue new market opportunities.

As part of the agreement, SPSS and Cognos will undertake joint go-to-market plans with special emphasis on driving Predictive Analytics in industry areas such as risk management for financial services and insurance, campaign effectiveness and product placement in retail and manufacturing, and sales effectiveness for life sciences. Integration with SPSS Predictive Analytics technology will extend Cognos’ powerful performance solutions and help enterprise customers anticipate and respond to changes in market conditions, risks and customer behavior.

University of Wollongong in Australia is a joint customer using IBM Cognos 8 BI and SPSS Predictive Analytics. The team responsible for performance indicators at University of Wollongong sees an opportunity to close the performance management loop with IBM Cognos and SPSS technology integration.
