Alcatel donates advanced communications server to the new Child Rehabilitation Centre in Mexico

Mexico City, November 25th 2005. - Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) today announced that it donated an advanced communications server to the new Child Rehabilitation Center (CRIT) located in Pachuca, Hidalgo.

The new Child Rehabilitation Center (CRIT) Pachuca will be the 7th CRIT built and operated with the support of Teleton Foundation. The opening ceremony will take place on November 25th, with the participation of Hidalgo State Authorities and Teleton Foundation executives.

“We are proud to be able to participate with Teleton Foundation for the 8th consecutive year, sometimes providing financial aid and others providing our equipment with the best technology in the market”, Federico Guillén Moñino, General Manager of Alcatel in Mexico said. “Our donation consists of an advanced communications server Alcatel OmniPCX Office with 48 digital extensions, allowing communications through advanced telephone options, automatic operator, integrated e-mail system and a line of easy-to-use ergonomic telephone sets. The solution is modular, scalable, powerful, flexible and simple, so that the system can grow at the pace CRIT Pachuca needs require”, explained Mr. Guillén.

Therefore we have decided to support Teleton Foundation in Mexico in its noble cause of supporting children with different abilities”, Mr. Guillén added “Child Rehabilitation Centers (CRIT) are designed with the leading architecture and medical equipment, consequently telecommunications should also be served with the best available technology worldwide.”

The Alcatel OmniPCX Office is an integrated communication solution designed for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). It consists of a pre-configured server that integrates Voice (IP or TDM), Internet, email, Call Center and Data (LAN switching) in one single system. The new CRIT Pachuca will receive 1,000 patients per year with registrations starting on December 5th. Since Teleton Foundation started operations in 1999, the six CRITs located in Mexico State, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Aguascalientes, Coahuila and Guanajuato have provided medical care for 30,000 handicapped children and their families.
