There are tens of thousands of Siva lingas in temples in South India that have not undergone abishekam for lack of funds. These temples are located in remote places, rural areas, and in major cities. Under the guidance of Datta, Astroved Services will identify these temples and perform abishekam on this day, with the help of a crew of priests. The temple deities will be given abishekam clothes, rudraksha beads, bilva leaves and food offerings. It is quiet a sizeable task that Astroved Services will be coordinating this year.

According to Vedic tradition, Sivaratri is the auspicious time for every soul to get into the primordial consciousness of non-existence or Nirvana.
