Agilent Technologies Introduces LC/MS Software for Browsing Large Sets of Drug Discovery Data

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced Agilent Analytical Studio Reviewer (AASR), a browser for liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) that enables researchers to quickly review large amounts of data in high-throughput labs.

Compatible with all Agilent LC and single quadrupole MS combinations, Agilent AASR speeds drug discovery development decisions by providing an intuitive user interface, making it easy to quickly review data, and offering a wide range of reporting options. Display of key data elements is customizable, letting users review large amounts of data at a glance.

“We want to create a walk-up environment, where non-experts can run samples and easily review molecular weight data,” said Gustavo Salem, vice president and general manager, Agilent LC/MS Division. “This is the thinking behind the AASR design.”

Agilent AASR facilitates review of large sample sets and enhances lab efficiency through:

* color coding of samples helps users visualize synthetic success;
* flexibility in views lets users highlight the results of their particular synthesis;
* multiple chromatogram views;
* displays of UV peak purity and MS peak purity; and
* unique editing features that allow users to apply their chemical knowledge to the data and can eliminate the need to re-run samples.

AASR is the ideal output tool for Agilent Easy Access software, which is designed for non-MS specialists who need to walk up to the Agilent 6100 Series LC/MS and run samples.

Data display and reports can be generated in a variety of file formats, including Agilent’s AASR and Waters’ RPT. Users can override summary results to apply corrections, generating a new file with all changes tracked in a log file. Single sample reports can be generated as PDFs.

Agilent AASR joins another new single quad software capability --Agilent MassHunter data analysis. This capability now provides Agilent single quad customers with the qualitative and quantitative analysis features as well as the flexible reporting power of Agilent’s Mass Hunter MS platform software.
