BT expands operations in Austria

Following the official opening of its Austrian headquarters in Vienna, BT has launched the direct distribution of its products and services in the Austrian market. BT’s focus is on multinational companies with extensive requirements for their communications infrastructure and IT systems.

Michael Frischauf, General Manager Corporate Sales, who is responsible for the ongoing expansion of sales activities in Austria, explains: “We want to be the preferred supplier for domestic companies that operate abroad.”

In pursuing its expansion plans, BT Austria is able to build on its relationships with existing clients, such as the Egger Group. BT operates a high-availability data network for Egger in nine countries.

BT plans to rapidly expand its presence in Austria, taking advantage of resources and know-how of colleagues at BT Germany. Jan Geldmacher, CEO of BT Germany, said: “This is in line with BT’s strategy of combining global reach with proximity to local customers. The Austrian team will support local customers quickly and directly. At the same time they will have the resources of BT Germany and the international BT organisation at their disposal.”

BT is a leading international supplier of modern data networks allowing customers to connect their national and international locations. Next to voice services, it offers ICT solutions such as messaging systems, videoconferencing, security solutions, data centre services and technical services for call centres.
