CA Records Manager First to Receive New, More Stringent Certification for U.S. 5015.2 Standard Version 3

WEBWIRE

ISLANDIA, N.Y. – CA (NYSE: CA) today announced CA Records Manager is the first Records Management Application (RMA) to be certified by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) against version 3 of the U.S. DoD 5015.2 standard, which provides for greater data security and integrity. Due to its long history of early and successful standards adoption, CA was among the first to be invited to certify against the new, more stringent standard. CA is also the first to achieve RMA-to-RMA transfer and interoperability certification, which sets standards for data import and export.

Although a U.S. government certification, the U.S. DoD 5015.2 standard is used worldwide as the de-facto standard for comprehensive records management by both private and public organizations. Version 3 requires the ability to create alerts and notifications regarding changes in any metadata fields, and restrict metadata access based on the contents of fields in the records repository. It also requires data integrity checking, comparing the expected and actual content in a repository through on-demand or scheduled integrity checks.

CA was an early adopter of both the original DoD standard offered through the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) in 1997, and version 2 in 2002.

“We are honored to be the first vendor to certify against version 3 of the standard,” said Galina Datskovsky, CRM, senior vice president and general manager for Information Governance at CA. “Organizations around the world use the U.S. DoD 5015.2 certification as the gold standard for evaluating functional requirements of records management solutions. With this certification, we can assure all our clients that CA Records Manager continues to lead the industry with best-in-class capabilities.”

CA Records Manager automates record-keeping processes, giving users faster access to information, saving time and money, and helping ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
