Alcatel-Lucent appoints Martin Jordy as head of Alcatel-Lucent in Japan

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced today that it has appointed Martin Jordy to lead the company’s organization serving Japan.

In his new post, Martin will assume overall responsibility for managing the day-to-day business activities of Alcatel-Lucent in Japan.

Martin has been working in the telecommunication industry for more than 20 years and has a broad range of experience managing businesses in different parts of the world. Prior to his new appointment, he was based in Shanghai in charge of Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Communications business for Asia Pacific. Martin was once the Chief Executive Officer of Evolium SA, an Alcatel-Fujitsu joint venture in mobile R&D and manufacturing.

He also held senior positions within former Alcatel in the USA, Germany and France.

Mr. Jordy joined the former Alcatel in 1989, and prior to that he spent three years in Tokyo working for Sumitomo Electric.

In addition to the nomination of Mr. Jordy as Country Senior Officer, Alcatel-Lucent also announced today that Eiichi Shimizu was appointed as Chairman and Advisor of Alcatel-Lucent Japan. Mr. Shimizu is a veteran of the telecom industry having served for 30 years in NTT and also as head of former Lucent Technologies Japan for more than 15 years.
