REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. — February, 2008 — iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS) today announced that iPass customers traveling to or working in India can now benefit from the addition of hundreds of Tata Indicom Wi-Fi hotspots into the iPass Global Broadband Roaming Network. The Tata Indicom brand is offered by Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) part of the TATA Group, one of India’s largest and most respected business conglomerates. With the integration of these hotspots, iPass customers are expected to have reliable high-speed connectivity options across India’s largest 20 cities including major business hubs such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.

VSNL’s hotspot locations include major domestic and international airports, leading premium hotels, educational institutions, sports stadiums, hospitals, restaurant and coffee shop chains. Key locations include Taj Hotels Group, Le Méridien, Café Coffee Day, Barista, Manipal University, and Wockhard as well as more innovative locations such as retail stores and railway stations.

“Our partnership with iPass is a reflection of how committed we are to enabling customers from across the globe to experience a reliable and secure wireless service and have a world class end user experience” said Shankar Prasad, President — Retail Business Unit, VSNL. “VSNL has been leading the growth of the Wi-Fi industry in India and today has the largest Wi-Fi deployment among domestic ISPs with over 350 hotspots. It has drawn up major plans this year to further enhance its footprint to over 1,000 hotspots.”

“Many iPass users view India as a critical business hub and this partnership with VSNL means that they can travel to the subcontinent, confident in the knowledge that they will find the same high levels of iPass service that they have grown used to in their home country,” said Chee Leng Loy, Managing Director, Asia for iPass. “This partnership also represents an added milestone for iPass as the eight airports within the Tata Indicom network takes us beyond the 450-airport mark globally — another demonstration of iPass’ commitment to its customers and the business traveler.”

Before being integrated into the iPass Global Roaming network, the Tata Indicom Wi-Fi access points went through the iPass Enterprise Ready certification process. This involved testing the hotspots against reliability and quality of service standards. With the integration of these hotspots, iPass customers now have access to over 90,000 Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide.
