Attendees Can Stop by the Verizon Booth at the New York Chinatown Celebration to Win Prizes and Learn About the Company’s Products and Services

To usher in the Chinese Year of the Rat, Verizon will join the festivities at the annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade in lower Manhattan on Feb. 10.

It could be a very good year for three lucky people who win one of the LG entertainment systems that Verizon is giving away: an HDTV, an HD DVD player and a surround-sound system. Attendees can register at the Verizon booth to win.

“Verizon is once again joining in the Lunar New Year Parade celebration,” said Amber Chang, manager of Asian marketing for Verizon. “As a broadband and entertainment company, we think it’s just right to celebrate the day by giving three lucky people who stop by the Verizon booth one of three entertainment systems that would work great with their Verizon FiOS or DIRECTV service.”

The Verizon booth will be located between Mott and Bayard streets. Visitors to the booth can learn about the company’s most popular services or play games to win other prizes. Verizon specialists who speak Chinese will be on hand to provide assistance and explain current promotions.

Winners of the raffle will be announced at the end of the festival, and the prizes will be shipped to the lucky winners.

Jeff McFarland, director of multicultural marketing for Verizon, stated, “Verizon is a long-time supporter of New York City’s Lunar New Year celebration. We are proud to support, and to maintain close ties with, the Asian community.”
