Mitsubishi Motors Offers Special Safety Demonstrations and Entertainment at Chicago Auto Show

Show Attendees Can Participate in Booster Seat Safety Demonstrations/Give-a-ways, Fantasy Kiosk and AFL Photo Booth.

In addition to showcasing its new, futuristic and historic high-performance models at the Chicago Auto Show, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is presenting show attendees other fun and educational activities including booster seat safety demonstrations (and free booster seats), an Eclipse fantasy kiosk and an opportunity to take a photograph at a special AFL Chicago Rush team display throughout the run of the show.

Car Safety Seat Demonstrations and Booster Seat Coupon Giveaways

In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of booster seats and increase usage, Mitsubishi Motors and Kids Safety First, a national non-profit organization, will continue its National Booster Seat Awareness Initiative at the Chicago International Auto Show as Certified Car Seat Technicians from the Chicago Police Department will be on hand to conduct booster seat installation demonstrations on Feb 9 and Feb 12 at the Mitsubishi Motors booth.

By participating in a free demonstration, parents with children within these age and weight ranges will have an opportunity to receive a certificate for a free booster seat redeemable at select Chicago Mitsubishi dealerships.

Although the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends that children between the ages of 4 and 8, weighing between 35 and 80 pounds, should use a booster seat, the organization estimates usage at about 20 percent. According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), there were 230 vehicle passenger fatalities amongst children the between ages 4 and 8 in 2006. More than 73 percent of the children involved in those fatal accidents were not placed in a child safety seat.

The free demonstrations will occur during February 9 and February 12, when children 12 and under receive free admission, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM CT at the Mitsubishi Motors booth. Kids Safety First will also be displaying free educational materials such as coloring books and car seat safety guideline cards.

Fantasy Kiosk/Motion Activated Display

During the run of show, Mitsubishi will display a fantasy kiosk that allows show attendees to create their own 2008 Eclipse using motion activated screen that includes library of exterior colors and interior features to choose from. In addition to the kiosk, Mitsubishi also offers a 9 by 20 foot touch screen that highlights Mitsubishi’s newest models.

AFL Photo Booth

Arena Football League fans will be able to be part of the action with a green scene photo booth. Auto show attendees will be able to have their photo superimposed on an AFL background which they can download later from a custom website.
