Delta’s low-fare air service receives another top honor at 12th Annual Gala Award ceremony promoting excellence in the travel and tourism

Atlanta – Nov. 15, 2005 – Song®, Delta Air Lines’ popular low-fare air service, was named “North America’s Leading Budget Airline” at the 12th Annual World Travel Awards at the Royal Opera House in London on Sunday, Nov.13, 2005.

Song’s superior and unique on-board amenities appeal to a wide variety of air travelers and differentiate it from other low-fare competitors. These features include a state-of-the art, digital in-flight entertainment system that provides: 24 channels of free, live, DISH Network® satellite television; free digitally-streamed MP3 programming that allows customers to create individual play lists of up to 32 songs at their seat (from an inventory of more than 1,600 songs); 10 movies available un-cut and on-demand, allowing customers to start and stop the film at their leisure; a suite of 11 video games; and a popular interactive trivia game that allows passengers to compete against one another. Song also offers a diverse on-board food menu that features healthy, organic food selections, signature cocktails and a few sweet indulgences.

“We’re so happy to receive this honor from World Travel Awards and travel professionals worldwide for providing great customer service and amenities. This award truly recognizes the incredible employees at Song and Delta and their efforts to bring fun and choice back to air travel,” said Joanne Smith, president of Song and Delta’s vice president of Consumer Marketing. “Being named ‘North America’s Leading Budget Airline’ is yet another complement to Delta’s decision to bring a Song-style service to more customers in even more destinations.”

Delta recently announced it would launch a new and unique long-haul domestic Song-style service for Delta customers by bringing together the best of the Delta and Song products to create a transcontinental travel experience unmatched by any competitor. This includes offering all-leather, two-class seating and expanding Song’s industry-leading in-flight entertainment system and award-winning customer service experience to more than 100-plus aircraft, beginning in May, 2006.
