Dialogic Corporation (“Dialogic”), a global provider of telecommunications media and signaling technologies, today announced that its Dialogic® 2000 Series and Dialogic® IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateways are compliant with key Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based IP telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The high-density IMG 1010 links all types of PBXs and networks to help businesses meet the demands of large managed or premises-based audio conferencing deployments. The IMG 1010 now is compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with: Avaya Communication Manager Release 4.0.1, an industry-leading IP telephony application; Avaya Meeting Exchange 1.0, an advanced conferencing solution; and Avaya SIP Enablement Services 4.0, a flexible, multipurpose SIP routing platform.

The IMG 1010 is a new addition to the Dialogic portfolio as a result of its October 2007 acquisition of EAS Group Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Cantata Technology, Inc., Excel Switching Corporation, Snowshore Networks, Inc. and Brooktrout Technology, Inc..

The Dialogic 2000 Media Gateway Series (DMG2000) is a set of mid-density media gateways that seamlessly merge traditional telephony with IP networks to help businesses migrate to IP telephony. Together Dialogic and Avaya enable new and differentiated voice over IP (VoIP) applications and interconnect VoIP services for multisite and multivendor organizations. The DMG2000 gateways now are compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager Release 4.0 and Avaya SIP Enablement Services 3.1.

“Dialogic and Avaya have a long history of building successful solution sets together,” stated Jim Machi, Dialogic’s senior vice president of marketing. “The Dialogic media gateway portfolio brings decades of application enablement experience to the transition from traditional circuit-switched networks and PBXs to VoIP, using the SIP protocol. Avaya partners and customers can now rely on compliance-tested gateways from Dialogic to migrate to VoIP interoffice networking and add cost-effective conference solutions such as Avaya Meeting Exchange.”

“As a longstanding Dialogic partner, we are excited to deliver their high-quality gateway solutions to Avaya reseller partners,” said Yvette McKenzie, vice president of merchandising, ScanSource Communications. “Resellers will also benefit from our commitment to delivering value-added services and support in concert with the Avaya/Dialogic solution. What’s more, Catalyst Telecom, our sister sales unit, is Avaya’s largest worldwide distributor, ensuring resellers have access to all Avaya communications products from one distribution family.”

Dialogic is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program—an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

As a Gold member of the program, Dialogic is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure—speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

“Companies like Dialogic are expanding the choices available to Avaya customers,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. “With a broad selection of standards-based solutions that are compliance-tested for interoperability, businesses can communications-enable their operations and make critical information readily available to both clients and employees.”
