Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, created specifically to take advantage of all the popular DS capabilities, is packed with 16 official challenges including two DS-exclusive events - 10m Platform (Diving) and Pursuit (Cycling). In this epic battle for Gold, players can interact with their chosen video game hero via the Nintendo DS’s unique Touch Screen and stylus. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games also features eight exciting Dream events - five of which are exclusive to the handheld game - Dream Canoe, Dream Boxing, Dream Basketball, Dream Long Jump and Dream Shooting. Available in both single and multiplayer modes, Dream events takes Olympic sports and bring them into vivid video game-inspired worlds filled with obstacles and power-ups.

With three gameplay modes, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games features gameplay and competitions for all ages as well as all types of gamers, from beginner to expert. The game features a Single Match Mode where players can choose one specific event to play, as well as the Circuit Mode where players can choose from a series of events.
