Darcy Antonellis Promoted to President, Warner Bros. Technical Operations


Highly respected and multi-award winning veteran technology executive Darcy Antonellis has been promoted to President, Warner Bros. Technical Operations, it was announced today by Kevin Tsujihara, President, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, to whom she will directly report.

Antonellis, who moves up from the dual role of Executive Vice President, Distribution & Technology Operations, Warner Bros. Technical Operations and Senior Vice President, Worldwide Anti-Piracy Operations, Warner Bros. Entertainment will focus on developing, adapting and leveraging new technologies to support Warner Bros.’ various businesses, including working with sales divisions to move entertainment properties from production to marketplace more quickly and efficiently. Further, she will lead the company’s activities in defining and refining the technical, business and legal standards for the secure digital distribution of Warner Bros.’ intellectual property as well as manage their attendant copyright issues. She will also assume responsibility for worldwide supply chain management from sourcing, procurement, conversion and logistics management to coordination and collaboration with partners and retailers.

Additionally, she will retain her previous positions’ oversight of Warner Bros. Advanced Digital Services, Worldwide Anti-Piracy Operations and GDMX (Global Digital Media Xchange). Antonellis will also work closely with parent company Time Warner and its domestic and international global public policy offices on the wide array of policy issues connected to technology.

In her previous technical operations post Antonellis was responsible for overseeing areas directly related to the Studio’s technical strategic planning and implementation related to worldwide distribution of all the Studio’s content, protection of content (film, television and video), asset management and distribution through traditional, new and emerging outlets. In her anti-piracy role, she was responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the Studio’s day-to-day intellectual property protection activities and initiatives on a global basis.

Antonellis joined the company in 1998 as Senior Vice President, Distribution Technologies & Operations, Warner Bros. Technical Operations, where she had oversight of the Company’s transition from traditional distribution technologies to advanced digital distribution.

Prior to joining Warner Bros. Technical Operations, Antonellis was Vice President, Technical and Olympic Operations for CBS Inc., having also served as Vice President, Technical Operations in New York and Director, Washington Operations, for the CBS News Bureau in Washington, DC. She also served as Vice President, Operations and Engineering for WTTG-TV, the Fox affiliate in Washington, DC.

A veteran of three Olympics, she last headed up Operations and Engineering for CBS Sports’ coverage of the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. She also worked as Director of Operations, stationed in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, during the Gulf War. She has received two Emmy Awards for technical production work on the Olympics and honors for work in the field of engineering from her undergraduate alma mater, Temple University.

She received a master’s degree in finance from Fordham University. In November 2003, she was named a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
