Embraer Honors Ametek As Supplier Of The Year

Leading Aircraft Manufacturer Recognizes AMETEK Aerospace & Defense in Mechanical Category

SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, S.P., BRAZIL - Embraer (Empresa Brasilieira de Aeron utica S.A.) recognized AMETEK Aerospace & Defense as Supplier of Year in the Mechanical Category at its 9th Annual Suppliers Conference, held November 26 and 27th in Atibaia, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In announcing this year’s award, Embraer noted it recognizes the triumphs of its suppliers in terms of improving quality and efficiency of their products and services as well as the support they provide its airline customers. The award was presented to suppliers in nine categories, including Mechanical.

The Supplier of the Year award was presented to AMETEK for on-time delivery, quality and general support for multi-axial accelerometers used on Embraer’s ERJ 145 and Embraer 170 and 190 jet aircraft. In addition to the accelerometers, AMETEK provides Embraer with a variety of mechanical components including SFMS engine sensors, Rotron fans, Hughes-Treitler heat exchangers, and Advanced Industries starter-generators and controllers.

AMETEK’s multi-axial accelerometers are hermetically sealed instruments for simultaneous measurement of acceleration on one, two or three axes: vertical, longitudinal and lateral. The accelerometers consist of up to three separate, rugged seismic sensors that respond to forces along each axis. An advanced solid-state electronic signal conditioning compliments the mechanical configuration.

Embraer’s ERJ 145 family of regional jets consists of four aircraft models with seating capacities ranging from 37 to 50 and are among its most recent aircraft introductions, while its Embraer 170/190 family, launched in 1999, has seating capacities for 70 to 122 and is among the world’s most successful commercial jets.
