Welch Allyn Expands Network Services Contract with AT&T

WEBWIRE

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced an extended networking services contract with Welch Allyn, a leading global manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions. Under the terms of the three-year $5.1 million renewed agreement, AT&T will continue to provide OneNet Voice Services and Virtual Private Network (VPN) services spanning 12 global locations. These services include remote access and a network-based firewall over AT&T’s Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based network.

With AT&T’s VPN services, Welch Allyn will now have a high-end managed data-services solution over a global common architecture, which can be accessed remotely to promote more effective and efficient sharing of applications hosted at multiple Welch Allyn global locations. AT&T’s MPLS core will ensure a replicable, robust and resilient network that will connect all of the company’s global locations and grow with the company’s communications needs.

“We are pleased to extend our contract with AT&T,” said Eric Hunt, chief information officer, Welch Allyn. “AT&T continues to provide us with a secure, reliable network that supports our evolving business goals and needs and helps maintain technology costs.”

AT&T will also provide Welch Allyn with AT&T OneNet Voice Service, which provides a flexible solution for large multinational enterprises that have a need for multiple communications technologies.

“As a leading global medical device manufacturer we need to work with top multinational technology companies that will enhance our operations and position us for continued growth,” said Jon Soderberg, vice president, Welch Allyn. “AT&T is one of the most respected communications services organizations in the world and is well positioned to provide us with the state-of-the-art solutions we will need as our business continues to grow both domestically and overseas.”
