Sony Ericsson makes two new key appointments to its senior management team

London, UK – 15 November 2005 – Sony Ericsson today announced the appointment of Ulf Lilja from Ericsson’s Group CFO office as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer, and Shoji Nemoto, President of Sony’s Digital Imaging Business Group, as its new Head of Product Business Unit GSM/UMTS.

Ulf Lilja’s appointment is effective today. He joined Ericsson in 2003 as assistant to the Ericsson Group CFO with special responsibilities for re-designing the Group’s financial follow-up system, increasing cost efficiency and transparency across all aspects of the Ericsson business. In 2004 he was appointed Ericsson Group Chief Information Officer (CIO). He will be based in Hammersmith, London, at Sony Ericsson’s corporate headquarters.

Shoji Nemoto’s appointment was effective as of November 1, 2005. He was President of Sony’s Digital Imaging Business Group with responsibility for the overall business management of Sony’s personal video and digital imaging products on a global basis. He will be based in Lund, Sweden, at Sony Ericsson’s main GSM/UMTS product development facility.

Ulf Lilja – Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining Ericsson, Ulf Lilja worked at the global technology group ABB where he held a number of international management positions in Sweden, Germany and the USA. His final position was as Chief Financial Officer in ABB’s Germany organization where he was part of both the ABB Management and Supervisory Boards.

Ulf Lilja is 52 and has a MSc degree in Industrial Economics from Linköping Institute of Technology, Sweden, and a secondary degree in Computer Science from Uppsala University, Sweden. He has also participated in a number of executive education programmes at Duke University and the University of Massachusetts Business School, both in the USA, and at IMD, Switzerland.

Shoji Nemoto – Head of Product Business Unit GSM/UMTS

Shoji Nemoto joined Sony Corporation in 1979 and gained extensive knowledge and expertise in engineering design and product development. Since 1991 he held a number of senior management positions within Sony’s consumer video and imaging organisation. His appointment at Sony Ericsson will continue to strengthen the joint venture’s relationship with Sony’s consumer electronic divisions.

Shoji Nemoto is 49 and has a BSc (Hons) degree in Electronics Engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan, and has participated in several executive development programmes in Sony.
