Agilent Technologies’ Broadband Digitizers Now Supported by 89600 Series Vector Signal Analysis Software

WEBWIRE

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that it has upgraded its popular 89600 Series Vector Signal Analysis Software (VSA) to interface with its Acqiris 10-bit and 12-bit CompactPCI broadband digitizers, enabling significantly increased data-measurement accuracy.

The newly released version 8.0 of the Agilent 89601A VSA software provides rapid data transfers from the digitizers to the host, reducing measurement times and maximizing user productivity. It also provides a host of development tools to assist system engineers in troubleshooting and evaluating broadband signals.

The 10-bit digitizers, the DC222, DC252 and DC282, offer a bandwidth of up to 2 GHz and a very large memory of up to 1 GS in single-channel mode. Dual-channel mode offers enhanced measurement performance with up to 512 MS of data acquired per channel at a bandwidth up to 1.5625 GHz. The large bandwidth combined with expansive memory make these digitizers ideal for applications in radar, UWB communication and multi-carrier power amplifier (MCPA) evaluation.

For smaller bandwidth applications requiring 12-bit vertical resolution, Agilent offers the dual-channel DC440 and DC438. This digitizer family offers an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio, a high number of effective bits at a bandwidth of up to 100 MHz and up to 8 MS of memory in both single- and dual-channel mode. The digitizers are ideal for applications that require very high dynamic range broadband analysis, such as LIDAR and I/Q demodulation.

The Agilent VSA software runs on either an embedded CompactPCI PC or on a PC connected via a PCI bridge to the external cPCI crate. With its link to the Agilent Acqiris CompactPCI high-speed digitizers, VSA 8.0 extends its number of supported platforms to more than 30 Agilent instruments and adds the PCI bus as a new bus supported by the software.
