BMO InvestorLine Introduces an Eighth New Wonder

WEBWIRE

BMO InvestorLine is paying homage to ancient Chinese beliefs in the lucky number eight by ringing in the 2008 RSP season with an opportunity for online investors to travel to the 7 New Wonders of the World or be introduced to the eighth wonder — a $10,000 cash deposit into their BMO InvestorLine account.

“Most online investors are ambitious, successful, dedicated individuals who like to be at the forefront of change and appreciate being rewarded for their efforts,” said Connie Stefankiewicz, President and CEO of BMO InvestorLine. “These are all characteristics associated with the number eight and our contest is really geared to this ‘Type 8’ personality.”

The ‘8 New Wonders’ contest gives online investors 8 chances to win and 8 prizes to choose from, including voyages to Rome’s Colosseum, Jordan’s Petra, the Great Wall of China, Mexico’s Pyramid at Chichen Itza, India’s Taj Mahal, Peru’s Machu Picchu and Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer.

“Based on our previous campaigns, we know travel is very popular with online investors. In fact, close to one-third of our clients have already entered for a chance to experience one of these exciting wonders,” said Stefankiewicz. “We also hope the contest encourages those who are not yet investing online to give it a try.”

The contest is open to new and existing BMO InvestorLine clients and runs between January 2 and March 26. Online investors have a number of ways to earn ballots for chances to win, including opening an account and transferring funds, depositing funds, making trades and signing up to eStatements. With 8 weekly prize draws and 8 prizes to choose from, clients have the opportunity to select either an exotic vacation to one of the new 7 wonders or a $10,000 cash deposit into their BMO InvestorLine account. Full contest details are available at www.bmoinvestorline.com/8newwonders.

To celebrate the launch of the contest, a Vancouver-based design team, led by Willard Cochrane, is using office supplies such as erasers, staples and pencils to build replicas of the Pyramid at Chichen Itza, the Colosseum and the Great Wall of China. The avant-garde, time-elapsed clip of the building of the Pyramid can currently be viewed on YouTube at: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4PZ_rSBjwx0. As of January 21, the creation of the other two replicas can be viewed through www.bmoinvestorline.com/8newwonders.
