Online Community and Social Media Professionals Gather for Unique Online Community Unconference in New York City

Participant-driven format features community and social media experts sharing knowledge on trends, opportunities and best practice in an Open Space setting


The Online Community Unconference East will be held February 21st in New York City. The Unconference is a gathering of online community professionals - managers, strategists, business people, tool providers, investors - to discuss experience and strategies in the development and growth of online communities, and the use of social media. Those involved in online community development (and social software in general) share many common challenges: community management, tools, marketing, business models, legal issues. As we have found with our past events, the best source of information on all of these challenges is other knowledgeable practitioners.

The Unconference, scheduled for February 21, will be held in New York City at the Newman Conference Center of Baruch College/CUNY.

The Online Community Unconference is inspired by the emerging “open space” conference format, where attendees set the agenda and all are encouraged to present their ideas. There will be plenty of breakout space, wifi, and dedicated time for networking.
