Free admission will be given to all visitors on Thursdays between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac and the Alliant Energy Foundation are pleased to announce that free admission will be given to all visitors on Thursday afternoons in January as part of Alliant Energy Month at the museum. Guests will receive complimentary entrance from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on five Thursdays during January; beginning with January 3 and concluding with January 31.

“We are pleased to partner with the Children’s Museum to enable all children access to a place where they can learn to play, and play to learn,” said Marty Fox, Executive Director of the Alliant Energy Foundation. “We believe the museum’s new home in the Windhover Center for the Arts is an excellent atmosphere for building connections between kids and adults and we encourage everyone to visit and see the new exhibits.”

On December 19, the Children’s Museum opened in the Windhover Center for the Arts. The new facility includes hands-on learning exhibits, interactive “discovery centers”, as well as a completely fresh look. Exhibits and areas include a Fond du Lac Community exhibit, a pizza parlor exhibit, a reading cabin exhibit, a health and fitness area, a theatre and radio station exhibit and a toddler area. Alliant Energy is the first sponsor of a “month” of free admission Thursday afternoons at the museum.

“We are grateful that the Alliant Energy Foundation provided a grant to allow everyone to visit us in our first full month of operation at the Windhover Center for the Arts,” said Carolyn Koch, Operations Director for the museum. “It’s important that all children, regardless of their economic status, are taught the foundations of learning at a young age and have the opportunity to express their creativity and imagination.”
