Oracle Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for Corporate Performance Management Suites Magic Quadrant

WEBWIRE

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -Oracle today announced that it has been positioned in the leaders quadrant in the recent Gartner report, “Magic Quadrant for Corporate Performance Management Suites, 2007.”(1) The report evaluates vendors for their ability to execute and completeness of vision.

Gartner defines the Corporate Performance Management (CPM) Suites market as, “the processes used to manage corporate performance, such as strategy formulation, budgeting and forecasting; the methodologies that drive some processes, including the balanced scorecard, or value-based management; and the metrics used to measure performance against strategic and operational performance goals.” Gartner also notes that, “to be effective, CPM must be supported by a suite of analytical applications that provide functionality to support these processes, methodologies and metrics.”(2)

“Information can only drive insight and action if it is timely, accurate and in the right hands at the right time,” said Rich Clayton, vice president, Business Intelligence and Performance Management Marketing, Oracle. “With Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System, we are breaking down information silos within organizations -- enabling CFOs, line-of-business managers and IT executives to confidently utilize their data assets to drive better visibility, planning and alignment across the enterprise. We believe Oracle’s position in the leaders quadrant for Corporate Performance Management Suites further validates our vision and strategy in this sector.”

As a result of the convergence of Corporate Performance Management and Business Intelligence technologies, organizations need integrated enterprise performance offerings. A component of Oracle(r) Fusion Middleware, the comprehensive and integrated Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) System brings together category-leading performance management applications, packaged business intelligence applications, and business intelligence foundation and tools products into a complete and integrated system for managing and optimizing performance across business functions. The offering’s hot-pluggable architecture helps customers extend the value of their performance management and analytic applications across heterogeneous IT environments.

Demonstrating its commitment to deliver innovative Business Intelligence and EPM offerings, Oracle is planning a number of enhancements for the upcoming release of its EPM System including new XBRL capabilities, improved drill back functionality, a new profitability and cost management application, and the release of Oracle’s Essbase Studio and Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Smart Space.
