Verizon Wireless Launches V CAST Mobile TV.

BERKS COUNTY, PA — Wait times at the airport, doctors’ offices and restaurants just got a little bit more interesting for Verizon Wireless customers in Berks County. Verizon Wireless has expanded its V CAST Mobile TV service to the area, giving local residents the ability to watch broadcast-quality television on select mobile TV-enabled handsets. The service has been available in Philadelphia since April.

V CAST Mobile TV features live content and other programming 24 hours a day from well-known entertainment brands including CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX Mobile, MTV, NBC 2GO, NBC News2GO, and Nickelodeon. Customers can watch their favorite network TV shows, sports and breaking news when they’re taking a break from Christmas shopping, waiting at the airport, killing time between classes, or otherwise looking for time to fill.

“This is real broadcast television with a range of channels and great shows to choose from. Our customers in places like Reading and Kutztown can now carry their TV with them in the palm of their hand and watch virtually whenever they choose,” said Christine Baron, president of Verizon Wireless’ Philadelphia region.

The service comes with parental control features so parents can monitor and restrict the programs their children view.

Monthly access packages range from $13 to $25 per month. Four V CAST Mobile TV-enabled phones are currently available: the all new Voyager™ by LG ($299.99), LG VX9400 ($149.99), the MOTORIZR™ Z6tv ($179.99), and the Samsung SCH-u620 ($99.99).
