European leaders in Oracle spatial technologies join forces to deliver eGovernment solutions

WEBWIRE

Cambridge/Amsterdam, 11th November 2005. Today at the Oracle Spatial User Group at De Meern, the Netherlands, Laser-Scan announced that Geodan signed up to Laser-Scan’s growing Partner Network.

This partnership extends Laser-Scan’s partner network in the Netherlands where other Geodan partners’ Intergraph and MapInfo are already resellers for Radius Topology(TM). Geodan will build on Laser-Scan’s initial entry into the Dutch market where they have already started work with City of Amsterdam. In particular, Laser-Scan will strengthen their commitment to providing eGovernment solutions across EMEA by focusing on public sector in the Netherlands through Geodan.

Geodan is an Oracle Certified Partner and has solutions for a large variety of subjects related to geo-information in both the private and public sectors. They are specialists in IT solutions that can be used to ensure the adequate management and availability of geo-information within an Oracle environment. Geodan also provides a wide range of Location Based Services (LBS) for mobile geo-information applications indoors and outdoors. Laser-Scan was recently nominated for Oracle’s ISV Partner of the Year - a huge accolade given there are hundreds of ISV partners and not so many with a focus on Oracle spatial technologies.

Mike Sanderson, CEO, Laser-Scan commented: -

“Geodan is a highly respected company within the geospatial industry, with extensive experience of delivering powerful solutions. Partnerships and interoperability are key to our business model so our combined extensive experiences in spatial data management will offer a compelling enterprise solution for data quality in Oracle through Radius Topology. Geodan has an in-depth knowledge of Local Government organisations in the Netherlands and the partnership timing is exactly right to take advantage as we extend our current eGovernment campaign with Oracle.”

Theo Thewessen, Managing Director of Geodan IT added: -

“We are an independent systems integrator that focuses on spatial technologies. We have a pedigree of working in the public sector in the Netherlands notably in the area of service delivery. Working together with Laser-Scan we can add value to existing customers and highlight the value of Oracle spatial technologies to other members of the public sector. Spatial data can be used extensively to help public sector organisations deliver on key objectives.”
