Fujitsu Services has been awarded a 2 year contract to provide ICT architecture and maintain quality assurance for the Irish tax and customs authority.

Dublin (eNewsPR) 9 December 2007 - Fujitsu Services has won a €3m ICT services contract with the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland, following an open EU procurement process.

The contract to supply IT services and support follows an existing relationship in which Fujitsu Services has worked on several infrastructure projects for the Irish tax and customs authority. Fujitsu brings with it an Irish operation of some 600 staff who specialise in IT solutions and services to both the public and private sector.

“This contract marks a broadening and deepening of our relationship”, commented Frank Daly, the Chairman of Revenue. “Revenue and Fujitsu have already worked very successfully together in providing the enterprise server and storage systems. Fujitsu is now providing expertise for technical architecture, certification and standards and quality assurance and testing work.”

Daly also reiterated the Revenue Commissioners’ commitment to expanding its multi-vendor strategy for external IT support. Fujitsu won the contract based on its successful track record with the department and its strength in delivering IT infrastructure management and outsourcing across desktop, networking and data centre environments.

Regina Moran, CEO of Fujitsu, added; “We have worked extensively in the Public Sector, both here in Ireland and around the world, and have gained a wealth of experience and insight which we will exploit to deliver Revenue’s business objectives”.
