New York, NY. – Platform-A, AOL’s advertising organization, today announced the formation of Platform-A Marketing Solutions, a unit that combines the AOL and TACODA sales forces. Platform-A Marketing Solutions will provide large brand customers with coordinated access to the full Platform-A product suite, including the offerings of AOL, TACODA, and Advertising.com. Kathy Kayse, Executive Vice President, was named to lead the unit. Mark Ellis and Matt Arkin were named as head of Eastern and Western region sales teams, respectively.

“As brand spending increasingly moves from traditional media to online, and audiences become more fragmented, a simpler, more unified approach is crucial. We’re positioning Platform-A to enable top advertisers and agencies to more easily harness the full power of digital media,” said Curt Viebranz, President, Platform-A. “With Platform-A’s coordinated and consistent set of products and unified approach, we can offer advertisers the industry-leading reach, analytics, targeting and ROI they’re looking for. And I’m delighted that we have three outstanding leaders in place to manage these important relationships with our top accounts.”

As EVP of Platform-A Marketing Solutions, Kathy Kayse will oversee the unit’s operations and focus on developing deep and enduring relationships with leading online advertisers. As part of Platform-A’s unified approach, she and her team will work closely with Advertising.com, led by Lynda Clarizio. Kayse, who came to AOL in 2004, is a 23-year veteran of Time Warner, where she worked most recently as publisher of People magazine managing all advertising sales and marketing operations.

Senior Vice President Mark Ellis will lead the sales teams in Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, New York and Virginia. Ellis came to AOL four years ago and helped reinvigorate AOL’s relationships with automotive groups in Detroit, and took on an expanded role last year, covering the Chicago and Dallas regions. Matt Arkin, SVP, will assume responsibility for the Platform-A Marketing Solutions teams in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Chicago. Arkin, was previously SVP, Ad Sales for TACODA, where he built and managed the TACODA sales team. Prior to that, he worked at CBS MarketWatch.

AOL in September 2007 announced the formation of Platform-A, the world’s largest digital display advertising platform, which reaches more than 90% of the online audience. In 2007, AOL also acquired three advertising companies: Third Screen Media, a leader in mobile advertising; ADTECH AG, a leading ad serving platform based in Frankfurt, Germany; and TACODA, a leading behavioral targeting company. In November, AOL announced plans to acquire Quigo, a leader in contextual-based advertising.
