Lupragens are catalysts used in making PU foams. PU catalysts are required to facilitate the reaction of the components isocyanate and polyol to form polymers. The particular catalyst required depends on the desired properties of the PU foam. BASF has more than 20 PU catalysts in its range, making it a world leader in this segment. The company produces PU catalysts in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Geismar, USA.
