KODAK Digital Archive Services Preserves 75 Years of Pittsburgh Steelers History
The winner of five Super Bowl titles, the Pittsburgh Steelers professional football team of the National Football League (NFL) has exhibited the tough resolve of its steel-making hometown since first taking the field in 1933.
When it came to preserving the storied accomplishments of the franchise, the Steelers chose KODAK Digital Archive Services as its document management solution for more than 130,000 pages of documents collected during the team’s 75-year history. Based on JPMorgan’s DocManager SolutionsSM technology, KODAK Digital Archive Services provides organizations with secure document content management. Lord’s International, a KODAK Authorized Imaging Reseller in Pittsburgh, and Kodak implemented a total solution to capture, store, retrieve, and preserve the team’s photos, game files, and other irreplaceable documents.
“Everyone knows and trusts the Kodak name. KODAK Digital Archive Services provides us with the high level of backup security necessary to ensure that our documents are secure for the future,” said Dave Lockett, Communications Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers. “The Steelers are the fifth-oldest franchise in the NFL, and we looked for the best way to preserve and manage our library of documents. This solution provides an easy to use system, and retrieval of our digitized documents is more efficient and user friendly. We plan to introduce this technology to other departments throughout our organization.”
Judith Powers, Strategic Account Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, noted “KODAK Digital Archive Services is the perfect solution for the Pittsburgh Steelers because they want to provide for business continuity in the event of a disaster, as well as preserve a long term archive for hundreds of thousands of documents and photographs. Kodak is pleased to work with the Steelers in preserving their rich legacy.”
Utilizing JPMorgan’s DocManager SolutionsSM archive, KODAK Digital Archive Services provides customers with virtually unlimited storage, and two archives running concurrently in different parts of the United States, with multiple points of redundancy for safe, secure document storage and retrieval via the Internet. It is sold through a select group of authorized Kodak resellers who also provide document conversion and integration services to clients.
