Intrinsyc CTO to Provide Keynote Address at Mobile Application Platforms & OS Conference
Intrinsyc Software International Inc. (TSX: ICS), a global wireless software solutions provider, today announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Randy Kath, will deliver a keynote presentation at the international Mobile Application Platforms and OS (MAPOS) Conference at The Hatton, London, UK on December 4, 2007 at 9:30am GMT. Mr. Kath will also participate on a discussion panel on December 5th.
In his keynote presentation “Next Generation User Interface and Application Frameworks”, Mr. Kath describes how major market disruptions, such as open software platforms, demonstrate the need for carriers and handset makers to change the economics of how mobile devices are sold to consumers. He outlines new UI market requirements, including customized screens and gesture-based interfaces. Integration, performance, UI tool chain considerations are also delineated. The presentation concludes with an examination of how wireless device makers can meet these new UI requirements.
“The mobile device market is experiencing an unprecedented level of disruption and change, particularly in the areas of user interfaces and applications,” said Mr. Kath, Chief Technology Officer, Intrinsyc Software. “Handset designers and manufacturers need to focus on integration mechanisms that allow them to modify program flow, native code interfaces that overcome performance limitations, and mobile UI development frameworks that extend rich, familiar tool chains.”
As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Kath is responsible for developing Intrinsyc’s technology roadmap for next-generation wireless software. Joining Intrinsyc in 2004, Mr. Kath has led the effort to build the recently commercialized Soleus™ software platform - offering mobile handset manufacturers a new way to build and brand better wireless devices faster. Prior to joining Intrinsyc, Mr. Kath held several software industry leadership positions and was with Microsoft® for over nine years, where he was a key leadership contributor to the development of Windows® Embedded CE.
The MAPOS conference and forum is organized by Informa Telecoms & Media and takes place at the Hatton in London, UK, from December 4 - 6, 2007. As the leading mobile software event, MAPOS is the meeting place of the companies and individuals driving the mobile software market.
