Media Advisory: Dec. 3 New Orleans Meeting To Review Ipet Risk & Reliability Analysis
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers established the Interagency Performance Evaluation Taskforce (IPET) to examine New Orleans’ hurricane protection system after Hurricane Katrina. Reports issued by IPET are being reviewed by a committee of the National Academy of Engineering and National Research Council at the request of the U.S. Department of Defense. At its next meeting in New Orleans, the committee will hear presentations by IPET officials on their recently issued “risk and reliability” volume, which analyzes the vulnerability of different parts of New Orleans to flooding caused by hurricanes. The meeting will also include a session for public comment.
Monday, Dec. 3, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Hotel Monteleone, 214 Rue Royale, New Orleans. The public comment session begins at 5 p.m. Reporters who plan to attend should register in advance with the Office of News and Public Information; tel 202-334-2138 or e-mail (email@example.com).
