Cellino & Barnes Announces $4.85 Billion Vioxx Settlement

WEBWIRE

Merck & Co., Inc. recently agreed to pay $4.85 Billion to claimants who suffered heart attacks, sudden cardiac death or stroke as a result of taking Vioxx.

The details of the settlement agreement are specific and include: (1) 85% of all eligible claimants must agree to participate in the settlement; (2) attorneys must recommend 100% of their clients to participate in this settlement; and (3) specific qualifications include individuals who suffered a heart attack, stroke, or suffered a sudden cardiac death.

If an eligible claimant is determined by the committee to qualify for payment, a point system will be used to determine the value of their claim. Many factors will be taken into consideration.

Ross Cellino states, “There is a lot of information packed into the settlement agreement. We recommend if you have questions, to contact our office immediately as there are specific deadlines in place.”
