Agfa HealthCare awarded new contract with Premier for RIS/PACS/Reporting solutions

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that it has been awarded a new, three-year, multi-source contract by Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P., the group purchasing unit of Premier Inc., to provide Enterprise Image Management Solutions (EIMS) and services to the alliance’s more than 1,500 member hospitals and 49,000 other healthcare sites.

The clinical foundation of Agfa HealthCare’s EIMS is its IMPAX™ Data Center, which provides multi-media storage and distribution to clinicians, supporting the continuity of patient care. IMPAX RIS (Radiology Information System), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) and reporting solutions - covering radiology, cardiology, mammography and orthopaedic clinical departments - will also be available to members under this contract. Agfa HealthCare’s EIMS is a highly integrated enterprise infrastructure that allows each professional within the healthcare enterprise to work according to his or her own requirements, simultaneously sharing information and maintaining a seamless workflow between clinical departments.

Agfa HealthCare was awarded this new EIMS contract following Premier’s comprehensive product and contract evaluation process, which is based on decisions made by Premier’s Imaging Committee, made up of radiologists and other key Premier member representatives. Effective January 1, 2008, this new contract is the latest in Agfa HealthCare’s ongoing relationship with Premier and its member facilities, which spans back to 1995.
