Harris Corporation Conducts Technology Seminars At First HD Radio Broadcast Conference in Brazil
Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, recently conducted technology seminars at the first HD Radio™ Conference in Sao Paolo, Brazil, November 6-8, 2007. The Harris presentations, led by Hal Kneller, senior manager of business development, digital radio, and Tim Anderson, FM product line manager, covered a variety of current topics including digital FM and AM implementations, technology discussions, benefits and features, and future opportunities related to the technology. Attendees of the conference included Brazilian and other Latin American broadcasters.
“This was a key event that supports our customers’ future success in digital radio broadcasting ventures and developments,” said Nahuel Villegas, Harris Vice President for Latin America and Caribbean (CALA region). “The Brazilian radio market has taken the lead in digital radio in the region, and we have taken a very active part in all early tests and in the more recent phases of experimental transmissions with the largest broadcast groups. The market is now getting ready for the next steps, and we believe that it is the right time to disseminate the experiences that we have collected along the way as well as to share the advantages that the high-definition technological evolution creates for our customers and their businesses.”
The HD Radio™ Conference in Brazil marks the latest in a series of international seminars and conferences featuring Harris presentations, including the Digital Radio Forum in the Dominican Republic last summer. Technology sessions also covered the evolution of HD Radio broadcasting products, requirements and options for HD Radio™ transmission, and data management. In addition to the technology seminars, Harris conducted a hands-on laboratory that allowed attendees to set up, configure and operate Harris HD Radio broadcasting equipment.
