Citibank Launches Press Club

Moscow – Citi Russia held the inaugural meeting today of the new “Citi Press Club,” a professional club that will meet regularly for journalists writing on economics and commercial, retail and investment banking and finance. Citi Press Club’s mission is to promote financial journalism in Russia, as well as broadly raise financial literacy amongst readers-at-large.

Journalists from leading Russian and international print publications, electronic news sources, and TV media outlets attended the inaugural meeting. The event was opened by Julia Zilberman, Head of Public Affairs for Citi Russia, and featured Mark Robinson, President of Citi Russia and Division Regional Head for Russia and CIS, and Eugene Belin, Country Treasurer of Citi and Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities - Russia & CIS, and Israel. Mark and Eugene provided a provided a banking and financial review of 2007 and investment outlook for 2008

The Citi Press Club will have reoccurring events and activities, providing members the opportunity to regularly meet informally with well-known members of the banking industry, economists, and colleagues from the media to discuss current topics and trends of this sector. Through meetings, seminars, roundtables and expert presentations, the Citi Press Club seeks to be a source of not only information, but also new ideas and topics for journalists writing on this industry. The Citi Press Club will also offer press excursions that provide insights into banking operations.
