Bell Ringers Will Be At Stores Throughout The Holidays To Raise Funds.

CINCINNATI, Ohio.– The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) and its family of stores are once again supporting The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign this holiday season. Funds raised through the campaign provide services in more than 5,000 communities across the country.

The campaign also helps provide toys for children, coats for the homeless, food for the hungry and many other social services throughout the year. Approximately 83 cents of every dollar are used to directly assist families in need.

In 2006, Kroger customers and associates contributed $8.1 million to The Salvation Army to fund services in their local communities.

“We thank Kroger and its family of stores for their continuous support of our holiday fund-raising campaign. We appreciate the generosity of Kroger’s customers and associates. Funds raised will be used to serve those in need in the community where the contributions are collected,” said Major George Hood, National Community Relations Secretary for The Salvation Army.

More than 35 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a broad range of social services. For more information, please visit www.salvationarmyusa.org.
